About
Vincent Varrassi
Vincent
Varrassi has been a professional educator for over 30 years.
His experience includes 27 years in public education in New
Jersey where he served as a regular education Social Studies
teacher, a Special Education Teacher, an educational
diagnostician and learning disabilities specialist. Before
leaving public education to direct a college level program
for students with learning disabilities, he was also the
District Supervisor of Special Education for a regional high
school district.
As an
adjunct in the Peter Sammartino School of Education at
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck New Jersey, Mr. Varrassi has served as an adjunct
faculty in the School of Education training teachers and
graduate students in the areas of learning disabilities,
differentiated instruction, assistive technology, Universal
Design of Instruction and Metacognitive Strategies.
Vincent
has also been the Director of a support services program for
college students with learning disabilities at a major university in Northern
New Jersey; a comprehensive program
sponsored by the NJ Commission on Higher Education at seven
colleges and universities, providing diagnostic evaluations
and support services to college students with learning
disabilities and ADHD.
A
popular presenter at state, local and national conferences,
Vincent has presented on a wide variety of topics in the
field of students with disabilities in high school and
Post-Secondary education. He has presented at conferences
sponsored by:

International Dyslexia Association (NY & NJ)
- The
National Association for College Admissions Counseling

ASPEN: The Asperger Syndrome Education Network
- The
University of Pennsylvania Autism Conference

Learning Disabilities Association of America

Jersey Association for College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC)
and at countless high schools for parents, students and
teachers.
He serves on the Executive Board of several professional
organizations and is on the professional advisory board of
ASPEN and the editorial board of the A B C's of College
Planning published by the NJACAC.
Mr.
Varrassi holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master of
Arts in Learning Disabilities.
Mr.
Varrassi specializes in working with the secondary and
post-secondary school student. His practice is devoted to
building a bridge to college and career for students with a
history of underachievement due to:
